PDP shifted the National Convention to November

The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) has postponed its national elective convention until November.

This convention was originally scheduled to be held on August 13 in the state canoe.

Now it will take place on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, the state of Oyo.

The Secretary of the National Publicity of the Party, Debo Osologiagba, announced this to the media briefing at the end of the 101th National Executive Committee (NEC) on Thursday in Abuja.

He said: “NEC approved in 2025 Schedule of activities and schedule of selected national conventions. Under the approved schedule, the elective national convention to choose the next set of our party officials will be held on Saturday, 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, the Capital of the State of Oyo.

“NEC also approved the composition of the membership of the National Convention Committee and the composition of the membership of the National Convention Zoning Committee to ensure a successful, transparent and credible elective national convention.

“In his determination to preserve all the mandates of the election given to our party by Nigerians throughout the country, NEC directed the National Work Committee to take legal action immediately to restore the seats of all members serving the national assembly and the state chosen on the PDP platform but defected to other parties.

“Based on the executive provisions part of section 68 (1) (g) and 109 (1) (g) The constitution of the Republic of Federal Nigeria, 1999 (as changed) has lost their seats, there is no division or merger about PDP.”
