Peter Obi donated ₦ 20m to victims of Niger floods during the visit

The presidential candidate for the Labor Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi has given his support to flood victims who destroyed last week in the Mokwa regional government in the state of Niger by donating ₦ 20 million to help those affected.

Obi visited Niger State on Monday, where he announced donations and promised to personally involved with families affected by the disaster. “I personally will visit the families of the victims and meet them one on one,” Obi promised during his trip.

Former Governor of the State Anambra was accepted at the Niger state government building in Minna by Deputy Governor of Jacobu Garba, who accompanied him to convey condolences to the people affected by the flood.

Expressing a deep sympathy for the losses suffered, Obi said he “prayed for the souls of the victims and for God to give families affected by fortitude to bear the loss that could not be improved.”

According to reports, floods have claimed the lives of 153 people, with more than 100 others still lost after flash floods were swept away through the Mokwa community.

Deputy Governor Garba expressed his gratitude to Obi for his movements, describing it as a show of kindness and compassion for those in need. He also praised him for his kindness and love for humanity, especially in supporting the victims of natural disasters.
