Vice President Kashim Shettima, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, and Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda were among the dignitaries who attended the funeral prayer of the late Hajiya Dada, mother of the late former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in Katsina, Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Among other dignitaries present in Katsina for prayers and condolences were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, and members of the National Assembly, both serving and retired, among others.
The prayer was led by Sheikh Aminu Yammawa, at around 2.15pm, although it was scheduled for 1.30pm, but was postponed due to heavy rains in the city.

The funeral prayer was held at the old Katsina Stadium, located near the Yar’Adua family.
Also present at the prayer were the emirs of Katsina and Daura, Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman and Umar Farouk respectively.
Speaking to reporters before the prayer, Shettima said he was in Katsina to represent President Bola Tinubu at the funeral service.
The Vice President prayed that Allah forgives the late matriarch of the Yar’Adua family and grants her Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Hajiya Dada was buried at the famous Danmarna cemetery in Katsina on Tuesday afternoon.
She was buried in a cemetery at the site where her husband, the late Musa Yar’Adua, her son, General Shehu Musa-Yar’adua, and former President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua were buried.
