Plumptre targets 2024 Olympics spot

The Super Falcons are aiming to secure a spot at the 2026 Olympic Games after their impressive performance in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

This is according to defender Ashleigh Plumptre during an interview with BBC on Wednesday.

Super Falcons garnered significant recognition with their performance at the FIFA World Cup Best, reaching round of 16.

Plumptre believes it’s important to build on the success by qualifying for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

“This is now the benchmark for us. The expectation is that we compete with these teams all the time, hopefully, we have proven that,” Plumptre told the BBC.

The record African Champions will face Ethiopia in the upcoming qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
