Police officers in Imo have arrested five suspected kidnappers who have been terrorizing residents of communities in the state.
State police command spokesman Henry Okoye confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday in Owerri.
He said the arrest of the suspects followed the reported kidnap of a 26-year-old woman on August 18 from her residence in Obinze local government area of ​​Owerri West.
The suspects are – Umaru Usman (40), Tukur Yau (25), Musbau Sabo (18), Abdul Ibrahim (30), and Jubrin Idris (35).
“Items confiscated from the suspects include one pump-action shotgun, five bullets, two daggers, one machete, and various evil amulets,” the spokesman added.
