Police arrested 6 illegal miners in Niger

Police operations in Niger have arrested six illegal miners in Paiko, the area of ​​the Paikoro Regional Government in the state.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday in Minna.

He said the suspects were arrested at an illegal mining location in Dangado Village on Saturday, following information received from community members.

The spokesman added that mining equipment was found from suspects armed with dangerous weapons.

“The suspects were arrested with three water pump machines, two diggers, head pan, knife, pieces, shovels, and several illegal drugs.

“Likewise, several illegal mining locations in Chanchaga were also raided, and several suspects were arrested,” Adetoro said.
