Police in Abia rescue kidnapped siblings, arrest Rev’s Sister and other suspects

The Abia State Police Command has arrested a Reverend Sister identified as Pauline Alozie, along with four other suspects allegedly involved in the kidnapping of her three siblings.

State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Maureen Chinaka, who announced the arrest of the suspects in a statement on Saturday, said the three children, Gideon Osinachi, eight, Obioma Osinachi, six, and Israel Osinachi, four, were found and rescued in Anambra and Delta States.

The police spokesperson said the names of the other suspects arrested were Chizoba DJ (female), Glory Umuna (female), Mrs. Georgina Nonye Okoye (female), and Philip Ibe (male).

He stated that the three brothers were abducted by unidentified commercial motorbike riders in May at Amoba Okoro village in Ikwuanno Local Government Area of ​​Abia State.

β€œThe children went missing on May 10 after a motorbike rider hired by the children’s grandmother to take them home after their visit took them away,” Chinaka said.

He added that Pastor Sister and four other suspects were closely traced and arrested in connection with the crime.

β€œThe investigation and efforts to rescue the children took place from 05/10/2024 to 06/13/2024. During this period, four female suspects and one male suspect were arrested in connection with the crime.

β€œThe suspects were arrested separately in Amawbia and Nkpor in Anambra State, as well as Warri in Delta State.

β€œThey include Reverend Sister Pauline Alozie (female), Chizoba DJ (female), Glory Umuna (female), Mrs Georgina Nonye Okoye (female), and Philip Ibe (male).

β€œThey were detained and will soon be tried in court,” the police photographer said.
