Police in Ogun warned of the cult activities in ‘777’

The Ogun State Police Command has warned young people in the state so as not to be involved in all forms of activities related to cult on Monday, July 7, in the celebration of the “777” cult birthday celebration.

The date “777” which is always set aside to observe the seventh day of the seventh month is always celebrated by several cult groups and has been linked to clashes of violence in the state of the past.

But in the public advisor issued on Sunday, Commander of the Commander of the Command, Odutola Omolola, said the police would clamp all forms of activities related to cult.

He revealed that the commando had taken credible intelligence which showed that members of several secret sect groups plan to mark the annual celebration on July 7.

“The command has strengthened security operations in all divisions and areas of the area to ensure peace and public safety,” Odutola said in the statement.

He also warned that “Every meeting that violates the law, procession, or birthday celebration related to the cult will be disrupted, and those involved are firmly handled.”

“Every effort to hold a meeting that violates the laws, processions, or warning events related to the cult will meet with police actions that are fast and firm,” the statement reminded.

The command also warned young people not to roam or form groups in public places during that period, saying such behavior can attract the attention of law enforcement.

“Young people are very urged to avoid roaming or forming groups in public places.

“Parents and guardians are advised to continue to supervise in their ward and educate them about the dangers of cult,” said the advisor, warning that anyone found to have firearms during a birthday period will be captured and prosecuted. “
