The official of the Public Relations of the Police, DSP Timfon John, in a declaration of Friday, said that Bassey’s arrest was part of an ongoing repression on criminal networks in the state.

“The preliminary investigations show that suspicion has been deeply involved in ritualistic practices, including the preparation of native pendants and bullet proof talismans for criminal bands”, reads the note.

According to the police, a search for the Bassey complex led to the recovery of a gun manufactured with single barrels, which is believed to be used in its illegal operations.
