The police authorities in the territory of the federal capital (FCT) have narrated how some officers of the command have rejected a bustarella of N1.5 million to ensure the release of a suspicion of kidnapping.

In a declaration on Wednesday, the spokesman for the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh, said a person was arrested following the accident.

“The agents of the FCT police command arrested a Yahaya Saleh, a 40 -year -old man, for trying to corrupt police investigators with the sum of one million, five hundred thousand naira (N1.500,000) for a desperate attempt to guarantee the release of a suspicion of kidnapping under investigation”, said the note.

“The arrest was carried out following a discreet operation by the Scorpion Squad officers of the Command, who had managed the investigations in progress on a kidnapping union that operates within FCT and its surroundings.

Yahaya Saleh approached investigators and offered a bustarella as an incentive to compromise the case and illegally release one of the suspicions arrested.

“By demonstrating professionalism, integrity and unwavering commitment for justice, the officers promptly refused the offer and started the necessary legal procedures, leading to the immediate arrest of Saleh.”

He said that “an investigation is underway to arrest other actors in the union”, the police commissioner of the FCT, Ajao Adwale, praised officers for their exemplary conduct.

He assured the public that the command remained resolved in his position against corruption and interference with justice.

The agents of the FCT police command arrested a Yahaya Saleh, a 40 -year -old man, for trying to corrupt police investigators with the sum of one million, five hundred thousand Naira (N1.500,000) for a desperate attempt to guarantee the release of a suspicion of kidnapping currently under investigation.

The arrest was carried out following a discreet operation by the officers of the Scorpion Commands team, who had managed the investigations in progress on a kidnapping union that operates within FCT and its surroundings. Yahaya Saleh approached investigators and offered the bustarella as an incentive to compromise the case and illegally release one of the suspicions arrested.
