Police released Sowore after two days of detention

The police on Friday released a presidential candidate detained from the African Action Congress (AAC) in the EST 2023 E election, Omoyle Sowore.

The activist was detained on Wednesday after he respected the invitation of the Inspector General of the Police Monitoring Unit.

He was invited by the police through a petition sent to the police by an unnamed person.

Sowore was released a few hours after his supporters protested his detention in Lagos, Abuja and other parts of the country ..

He described his detention as “illegal and unfair.”

Writing sowore; “The Nigerian police have surrendered to the demands of the revolutionary movement. I have been freed from an unfair, illegal and unreasonable detention.

“However, nothing can be celebrated, but thank you for not giving up!”
