Presidency apologises for errors in published list of Tinubu’s federal appointments

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

A deliberate attempt by the Presidency to dismantle the notion that President Bola Tinubu is nepotistic and rabidly Yoruba-centric in his appointments went awry as the list published by an official was fraught with a number of errors.

Special Adviser, Media & Public Communications/spokesperson to the President, Mr Sunday Dare had published a list purported to contain appointees of President Tinubu in the six geopolitical zones.

“On this issue of appointments by the Tinubu administration,  it is important to state that President Bola Tinubu is a detrabalised leader. His antecedents before he even became president speak to this fact…”

He had uploaded the list on his X handle @SundayDareSD on or about Wednesday only for him to retract the list on Thursday,  April 10, 2025 at 7.55 am.

“We have noticed a number of errors in the list of appointments tweeted.  We are sorry.  We will provide @ an updated list later,” Sunday Dare wrote.

Nigerians who had lapped up the initial list in a tweet that was read by well over 17,000 Nigerians and retweeted by scores of other tweeps as of the time it was retracted, criticised Dare for allowing the mischief to escape.

Some even called for his resignation for the egregious mistakes.

Some of the reactions are published hereunder:

● Oladayo Martins omo Ojo @PoloM77 to @SundayDareSD

“The difficulty in publishing a simple Ministerial or appointment list simply reflects the incompetence you people apply to Governance in this administration.

“Something as simple as a list should have been stored in an automated system available publicly upon demand…

“What a shame. In sane countries, a resignation letter would replace this apology.”

● @OladayoMARTINS

“Some things are not acceptable. Imagine a firm not knowing the number of employees they employed. It almost feels like many other things you share might be inaccurate.”

● Maney @Charles_maney

“There’s nothing we will not see in this APC / tinubu presidency… people criticized marginalization… you printed fake and inaccurate charts of appointments that fit ur initiatives!… May BOLA AHMED TINUBU never happen to NIGERIA AGAIN!!!!

● Aku @aku_buo

“Govt of propaganda by propaganda for propaganda.

“Very incompetent and ethnocentric govt.”

●Village Man@EtimEsin3

“I noticed the errors too where Buba Mawa appears in both NE and NW. And Ganduje appears twice. Meanwhile, president should do something about SE. Their list is unappealing. May Nigeria succeed.”

Reproduced in extenso hereunder is the original list publisher by Dare which he retracted.
