The president of the Imo Football Association, Barr Ifeanyi Dike has congratulated the president of Nigeria Football Federation (Nff), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for his emergency as the new president of the West African Football Union (Wafu).
Dike said that the emergence of the President of the NFF as president of the Wafu was a huge undertaking as it will allow Nigeria’s prominent roles in football in West Africa.
“I congratulate the President of the Nff, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for his emergency as president of Wafu, is good for us as a nation.
“His emergency as president of Wafu is a huge opportunity for Nigerian football to play a more important role in modeling the future of sport in West Africa”.
“Alhaji Gusau as the fifth Nigerian to hold the maximum position in the Subregional Football Body of West Africa is an advantage for us as a nation.
“This position will certainly improve the profile of Nigerian football and will provide us with a platform to continue showing our talents and football skills even on a larger phase”.
“The IMO wishes the success of the President of the NFF on his new role and commits our support against his position to promote football in West Africa,” said Dike.
