President of the Senate Committee for Sport, Senator Ningi congratulates Super Falcons for the tenth victory AFCON
Abuja (basic reporter) President of the Senate Committee for Sport, Senator Abdul Ningi has extended sincere congratulations to the Super Falchi della Nigeria following their historic tenth triumph at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon), held in Morocco.
Senator Ningi praised the Falcons for their resilience, discipline and above all for having once again demonstrated the “spirit of Naija” for a superlative performance against the Lioness of Morocco in the finals of the Women Africa Nation Cup (Wafcon), describing them as “true Nigerian ambassadors on the global phase”.
In a declaration of the President’s Media Team, the Senate Sport Committee that was made available to journalists on Sunday 27 July 2025, Senator Ningi said: “The Super Falcons have once again shown what it means to represent Nigeria with pride and purpose. Their determination, unity and consistency reflect the values that hold like a nation”.
He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his firm support for sports development in Nigeria, the leadership of the National Sports Commission (NSC) led by Mallam Shehu Dikko as President and Hon. Bukola Olapade as general manager and management of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their strategic guide and commitment to excellence in women’s football.
Even the senator who represents the central Senatorial district of Bauchi at the tenth Senate praised the technical crew of the Super Falcons for their efforts to achieve the set goal of the X Mission
He also noticed that the success of the team not only brings an immense pride to Nigeria, but also acts as inspiration for girls throughout Africa, showing that excellence does not know the genre.
Super Falcons 3-2 victory fought 3–2 on their guests at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat, Morocco further allows their most decorated and successful women’s football team status in Africa.
According to Senator Ningi, “we would continue to work on the legislation that will make the growth and development of sport, in particular football, inevitable in Nigeria”.
