President Tinubu rewards Super Falcons with $ 100,000, national apartments and honors

In a great gesture of national appreciation and pride, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a generous package of rewards for Super Falcons after their excellent performance in the newly completed Cup of Nations of Women’s Africa (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Each player who proudly represented Nigeria in the tournament will receive a cash reward of $ 100,000, a three bedroom apartment in the renewed urbanization of Hope Housing in Abuja, and a prestigious national honor: Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

The announcement was made during a state reception organized in honor of the team, where President Tinubu praised the hawks for his exceptional dedication, resistance and patriotism, which saw them finish as one of the outstanding teams of the tournament.

The cash reward of $ 100,000 per player translates into more than ₦ 152 million (according to the prevailing exchange rates), which underlines the determination of the government to invest and celebrate the female athletes that fly the flag of the nation in the continental and global stage.

Renewed Hope Housing Estate apartments are part of the president’s widest agenda to provide decent homes for Nigerians, especially those who have served or represented to the country admirably.

This last recognition adds to the growing list of praise for Super Falcons, widely considered as the queens of African football, and serves as a stimulus for the youngest generation of soccer players in Nigeria.

Nigeria returned from two goals to overcome the host Morocco 2-3 to ensure the Cup of African Women Nations for a record ten times.
