Prestige Archibong Wins First PANASA Youth Champion Title


Rising Scrabble star Prestige Archibong has etched his name in African Scrabble history by becoming the first winner of the PANASA Junior Continental Champion (JCC) badge.

The title was conferred upon him following his victory at the inaugural 2025 African Youth Scrabble Championship (AYSC) held in Nairobi, Kenya.

Prestige’s journey to the top has been nothing short of extraordinary. In 2023, when the African Youth Scrabble Championship (AYSC) debuted, he competed in the Under-15 category and emerged as champion.

Two years later, at the AYSC 2025 held in Nairobi, Kenya, he moved up to the Under-19 division and once again claimed the title, cementing his reputation as one of Africa’s brightest young Scrabble talents.

Having won every title available at continental junior level, Prestige’s consistent dominance proves their 2023 triumph was no fluke. His constant progress and commitment to excellence have positioned him as a future star of the global Scrabble scene.

In recognition of his achievements, he was announced as the first recipient of the award.

Meanwhile, at AYSC 2025, Kenyan players Kingsley and Adrian Ngache, who finished second and fifth respectively, put in strong performances that helped Kenya overtake Nigeria and take second place overall in the U-15 category.

Their performance signals a new wave of emerging East African Scrabble talent, promising exciting rivalries for years to come.
