Presumably armed men attack the family home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Auduaghan-Thage

Senator Natasha Akpoti Media Office condemned the brazen attack on his family home in Obeiba-Ihima, in the state of Kogi, Tuesday 15 April. From armed men, erroneously believing that the senator was present, windows vandalized in his grandfather’s house.

The media office in a declaration made available to journalists, said that fortunately, the security agents quickly replied and rejected the attackers.

According to the statement “this calculated aggression seems to be a direct response to the courageous position of Senator Akpoti-Usaghan against the president of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, who accused of sexual harassment. We urge the police inspector to immediately reintegrate his security details.

“Senator Akpoti-Usuaghan shared his report of the accident:“ Two days ago, my younger brother brought some contractors to my hometown in Ihima to inspect the offices for the next projects that I attracted in my Senatorial District. The unknown armed men assumed that I was the one in the city and attacked my family home that night.

“Fortunately, the civil defense team and the members of the community responded promptly and chased them. A report was made to the command of the police area and no one was injured.”

“We ask the public to remain calm and support the search for justice for Senator Akpoti-Auduaghan.

“His dedication to speak the truth and representing its components should not be welcomed with violence and intimidation”
