Price increase: October 7th Court improvement for multichoice executive accusations

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, set October 7 on the indictment of Multichoice Chair Nigeria Limited, Adewunmi Ogunsanya, for alleged violations of Federal Competitions and Consumer Protection Law (FCCPA), 2018.

Ogunsanya will be charged with the Director/CEO of the company implementing John Ugbe, and other high -ranking officials to raise subscription rates for DSTV and GOTV services.

Another senior official from the TV-TV company mentioned in this case is the CEO of Multichoice Africa Holdings, Fhulufhelo Badugela; Chief Financial Officer for Africa, Retiel Tromp; and group executives for corporate affairs, Keabethse Modimoeng.

Also registered is a director, Adebusola Bello; Fuad ogunsanya; And Gozie Onumonu, who is the head of government regulation and relations, together with the company itself.

Judge James Omotosho set the date after the Chizenum Nsitem, an advisor to the federal competition and the Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), submitted a delay for the absence of the defendant in the court.

When the problem was called, no defendant appeared in court, quoting inappropriate services from court documents, including the trial notification.

The prosecutor’s advisor requested a delay to ensure the right service, the judge provided.

Judge Omotosho postponed this issue until October 7, for the defendants to enter their requests.

The problem began after Multichoice, DSTV and GOTV operators, increased their subscription rates, encouraging FCCPC invitations to explain the reasons behind the price increase.
