Protest: Katsina govt eases curfew

The Katsina state government has eased the curfew in the state.

The state’s acting governor, Faruk Lawal-Jobe, last week imposed a 24-hour curfew in the state after #EndGovernance protests in the state turned violent.

He later relaxed the curfew to allow free movement of people in the state.

The Director of Press, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Abdullahi Aliyu-Yar’adua, said in a statement on Saturday in Katsina that the curfew will now be enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. across the state.

He said: β€œThe Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba-Faskari, said the Acting Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, was satisfied with reports of improvement in the security situation across the state.

β€œTherefore, he ordered an immediate review of the curfew.”
