The Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of 12 police commissioners (CPS) and 188 other officers in their next degree.

Ikechukwu Ani, head of the press and public relations of PSC, revealed it in a statement on Monday in Abuja.
Ani listed other officers promoted to include: 16 Deputy Police Commissioners (DCPS), 27 Police Commissioners (ACPS) and 145 main police superintendents (CSP).
He said the CPs were promoted to their subsequent degree of general inspectors (Aigs), DCP to CPS, ACP to DCP and CSPS A ACP.
The PSC spokesman said that one of the ACPs due to the promotion was absent and therefore was not promoted
Ani also stated that the Commission approved the promotion of 29 police superintendents (SPS) and 38 Deputy Deputy Police Supports (DSP) to their subsequent ranks.
According to him, the 145 CSP promoted to ACPs included police officers and general duty specialists, such as Airwing officers, doctors and dentists, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, physiotherapists and nurses.
He said others were priests and aircraft engineers.
Ani said that the 29 SP promoted to CSP and 38 DSP promoted to SPS were all specialists.
He said the 12 CP promoted to Aig were Johnson Adenola, Ako Gabriel, Ahmadu Abdullahi, Emmanuel Aina, Omolara Oloruntola, Hassan Yababet, Bretet Simon, Enyinnaya ADIOGU, Aminu Raji, Mohammed Usman, Festus Okunade.
Ani said the 16 DCPs promoted to CPS were UDUAK ITA, Sheikh Danko, Charles Dike, Nnana Ama, Gabriel Eliagwu, ABIOLA ORILUNDE, Yakubu Dankaro, Michael Falade, Aina Adesola and Umar Chuso.
Others were Emefile Osifo, Innocent Anagbado, Musa Sani, Victor Erivwood, Omikhudu Philip and Sylvester Edogbanya.
He said that successful officers have undergone examination and interview sessions conducted by the Commission.
Ani said that the president of the permanent committee of the commission for police issues, Taiwo Lakanu, coordinated the promotion exercise and presented the report to the Commission in the plenary to be considered and approved.
