Putin prepares to host dozens of world leaders for the victory day parade in the main PR coup for Moscow | World News

It is difficult not to see the motivating factor behind Vladimir Putin’s latest unilateral ceasefire in Ukraine as one of the times.

Starting today, Ceasefire three days Coinciding with Russian luxury celebrations to mark the 80th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany.

The main event will be the parade of a big military victory day on the red field on Friday, where the Russian president will welcome more than two dozen world leaders, including China Xi Jinping.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has rejected the ceasefire proposal as a theater, and cynical tactics by Mr. Putin To protect the paradise, not human life.

Ukraine claims Russia has violated a ceasefire, launching a guided bomb in the Sumy region on three occasions, but there is no way there will be a revenge at this time.

It is true that Kremlin wants to hold a good show – not only for its guests but for the whole world.

The arrival of so many heads of state, including the leaders of Brazil, Egypt and Vietnam – was the main coup for Moscow, and the opportunity to show the West that his efforts to isolate Russia had failed.

Announced the list of guests earlier this week, Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov claimed it was “Indicator of Russian Authority that developed in the world”.

By remembering that, Ukraine’s attacks on the parade will be very embarrassing for Putin.

In theory it could happen – Kyiv has not been committed to a ceasefire, instead of calling for a 30 -day break, and has said that he cannot guarantee the security of high -ranking foreign officials who visit Russia – but I think it is very impossible.

It will risk damaging the relationship with Donald Trumpwhose attitude about peace talks seems to have shifted new to supporting Kyiv.

But Ukraine still does the best to disturb preparation here. Some drone attacks for the past few days have forced Moscow Airport to repeatedly suspend operations, just as foreign leaders have flown.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic reportedly took 10 hours to reach Moscow after his flight had to stop at Azerbaijan. While more drones targeted Moscow right before Xi landed on Wednesday afternoon.

This is an attempt by Ukraine to embarrass Mr Putin, and to convey to his guests how not approved by their visit, which is considered to show support for the Russian invasion.
