The armed men suspected of being members of the Ga-ACI Udo operation, popularly known as Agunechemba Vigilante Group, presumably attacked a member of the female body in the state of Anambra.

It was said that the victim, identified as Jennifer Edema Elohor, had been attacked together with some of his colleagues after the vigilantes had stormed their lodge.

A disturbing video shared by the Haven360 Foundation on Facebook showed that the member of the body was beaten and stripped naked by men armed with rifles.

The accident aroused indignation throughout the country, with the Nigerians who asked for a thorough investigation and justice for the victim.

Reacting to development, the special consultant to the governor Chukwuma Soludo on the security of the community, Ken Emeakayi, described the assault as “unfortunate and unacceptable”.

He confirmed that the agents involved had been identified, arrested and detained pending investigations.

EMEAKAYI explained that the attack occurred during the Udo Ga-Achi operation, a joint security exercise that involves the police, the army, the department of state services, the civil defense and the state security outfit.

He said the agents were looking for cultural suspicions when they tracked them down in a residential complex in which the members of the body lived.

“As they acted inside the law, their conduct in that application was unacceptable. The accident was immediately reported, we moved quickly to arrest the agents and start disciplinary measures,” he said.

He revealed that the member of the aggressive body, together with the NYSC officials, had been invited to give a first -hand report on the accident, adding that a disciplinary action was underway against incorrect agents.

EMEAKAYI also clarified that the Ga-Achi Udo operation is a multi-agency Task Force, while Agunechemba is the Statutary Safety Dress of Anambra established pursuant to the State National Security Law 2025.

By reiterating his commitment to the safety of citizens, the government of the State of Anambra said that it would not tolerate the abuse of power by the safety agents.
