Rena Wakama of Nigeria joins the United States basketball team – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

Chicago Sky has announced the appointment of the Digress coach Rena Wakama as assistant coach of Tyler Marsh staff.

The club announced the Wakama appointment in a declaration on its website, after previous ads of Courtney Paris and Tanisha Wright’s appointments as coaches assistants.

“Rena has shown that he has a winning mentality and attitude,” Marsh said. “We saw its success last summer with the Nigerian national team at the Olympics, based on a winning record and a large coaching background and players development. It is an excellent young leader and coach who will have a significant impact on the program of the sky.”

Wakama made history with the Nigerian women’s basketball team, D’Ads, leading them to an impressive race at the Paris Olympics of 2024 of African basketball, male or female, in the modern era of games. Her successes earned her the Best Coach of Fiba award.
