Representatives extended the 2023 budget implementation deadline to December

The House of Representatives on Thursday passed two bills extending the implementation of the 2023 Budget Law and the 2023 Supplemental Budget Law until December.

President Bola Tinubu has outlined the bill in a letter read out at the plenary session by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas in Abuja.

The bill is entitled: “2023/2024 Appropriation Amendment Bill, and 2023/2024 Additional Appropriation Amendment Bill.”

House Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda, in a debate on the general principles of the bill, expressed his reservations on the advisability of expediting the bill’s passage.

After the discussion, the DPR dissolved into the Supply Committee to discuss various clauses in the bill, all of which were implemented.
