Reverend Father killed, houses burned on the plateau

A reverend father, Mimang Lekyil, in the community of Kwakas, in the Mushere district, in the area of ​​the local government of Bokkos, was killed by armed men.

The residents of the community referred to Daily Trust that armed men, who are presumed to be kidnappers, attacked the home of the reverend around 9:00 on Sunday when his family members were about to sleep.

Bishop Ayuba Matawal, residing in Bokkos who also confirmed the accident, told that two women were previously kidnapped, but were saved by vigilants and young people in the area.

“Yes, they shot the reverend father. The two women in the house were kidnapped but were subsequently saved by the residents of the area who mobilized to follow the attackers. It is believed that they came to kidnap the reverend since they went with women,” said Bishop Matawal.

He also stated that the body of the reverend at the end of the 70 -year -old had been deposited with the moon morgue in Bokkos.

In the meantime, the houses belonging to the community of shepherds in the area were burned by angry residents in the village of Dingak, a Fulani settlement in Mushere Central.

Saeed Adamu, Fulani’s youth leader in Bokkos, told Daily Trust that many houses belonging to their members were burned after killing the reverend’s father.

As he condemned the murder of the religious leader, Adamu invited the security forces to investigate the accident on the accident and justice.

The youth leader also sentenced the fire of houses, saying that there were no evidence to show that the cleric had been killed by the shepherds.

“We have heard of the history of the killing of the reverend, but there have been no investigations that indicate that the killing was committed by our members. Here are what things are done. We invited the security agencies to investigate the matter,” said Adamu.

The spokesman for the Safe Haven operation, Major Samson Zhakom, has not yet responded to an investigation into the accident by our correspondent at the time of the presentation of this relationship.
