River crisis: Wike meets PDP House of Representatives in Abuja

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike on Tuesday met with the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.

The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to find a lasting solution to the political crisis in Rivers State.

The BoT led by former Senate President Adolphus Wabara last month invited the minister to a meeting in a bid to reconcile him with his estranged political godson, Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The duo fell out last year over control of the PDP structure and other issues. Efforts by President Bola Tinubu and stakeholders in the state and beyond to resolve the dispute have not yielded the desired results.

Last week Wike vowed that he would never support a governor politically again.

The minister, who appeared on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today, slammed Fubara for lying to him.
