According to him, “This new dawn also calls for reddication for good services and governance. Returns of governors and passional assemblies not only have to mark political resolution but also the new start in accountability, transparency, and integrity. Leaders must be committed to returning to their constitutional duties, ensuring every decision is guided by the welfare and interests of people.”

He further emphasized the need for unity in facing joint challenges, noting that the power of Rivers State lies in his diversity.

“The state of Rivers is very blessed with various communities, cultures, and traditions, but we share one destiny. The division weakens us; unity strengthens us. We must put aside factional differences and work together to overcome unemployment, insecurity, infrastructure decay, and environmental degradation,” he said.

Dr. Toby also asked the wider population to remain calm, support a democratic government, and be committed to rebuilding the country.

He urged: “Reject violence and fight those who are trying to divide us.”

He concluded with a sincere call for this period to be remembered as a turning point in the history of the state.

Dr. Toby said, “Hopefully now delivering lasting peace, progress, and prosperity for future generations,” and encourages all rivers to “choose reflection rather than reaction, forgiveness of conflict, dedication to neglect, and unity rather than distribution.”
