The Governor of the State of Rivers, Siminalayi Fubara, will turn to the people of the State in a broadcast scheduled for 18:00 on Friday, marking his official return following the suspension of the state’s emergency rule.
Speaking at the Government House of Port Harcourt after his arrival, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude for the overwhelming receipt he received from the residents.
“I am humiliated by what I saw at the airport. I was also informed about what happened here yesterday. That welcome really humiliated me. Showing love, trust and solidarity. It’s not just a celebration,” he said.
The governor described the turnout to the polls as a reaffirmation of the link between his administration and the people, ensuring that his government would continue the policies and actions that have gained public support.
“We will officially face the state by 18:00 and, in that transmission, any authority that has given support to this normality will be correctly recognized,” added Fubara.
