Rivers: Iba ignores the court orders, appointing the administrator for 23 LGA

Although the court orders arrest him from making an appointment, a single state administrator, representative of the Ibok-eet Iba (Retd.), Has advanced to appoint an administrator for 23 regional government areas in the state.

The appointment of administrators arrived almost 24 hours after the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt led by Judge Adam Muhammmed on Tuesday, in a lawsuit filed by the Pilex Center for Civic Education Initiative led by Msirimovu’s courage to the single administrator in its official capacity, giving an order to hold the IBA from appointing the administrator to violate the law.

However, the report that came out of the state on Wednesday morning had revealed that Ibas not only approved the appointment of the administrator but also approved the constitution of several institutional councils, commissions and parastatal which he had previously disctoring.

Approval of the appointment contained in the ‘Special Government Announcement’ issued on Wednesday morning by the Secretary of the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, said they immediately had the effect.

“Your Honorable Administrator Rivers State, Representative of Admiral (RTD) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas CFR, has approved the appointment of administrators for 23 regional areas of the Rivers state government,” the announcement said.

“He has also approved the reconstitution of several institutional councils, commissions, and parastatal, previously suspended.

“All promises come into force from Monday, April 7, 2025,” he added.
