Ibas, from his appointment, has undergone strong resistance by the citizens of the state of sparrows, which see his leadership of the state as imposition.

Iheamnacho spent only 70 days in office, as was appointed on April 9, 2025 and officially sworn on April 11.

He held his resignation on June 20, citing a personal decision to return to the private sector in a letter addressed to Ibas and obtained from the correspondent of Trust Daily to Port Harcourt.

He said: “Sequel of the topic above; I am humbly writing in your noble office to communicate my resignation as Ahoda-East LGA administrator. My decision is informed by my desire to return to the private sector.

“My sincere gratitude goes to the government of the state of sparrows and the good people of Ahoda-East for finding me worthy to serve as administrator of Ahoda-East Lga from 11 April 2025 to 20 June 2025.”

Iheamnacho was among the 23 unique administrators appointed to supervise the advice of the local government following the expiry of the heats of the presidents of the elected Council.

The appointments followed a decision of the administration led by Ibas to circumvent new elections and instead are based on administrators appointed to guide the councils.

His resignation are the first recorded among the administrators just appointed and raises questions about the stability and direction of the administration of the local government of the State under the current administration in the State.
