Royal Aces Eye Bronze after the semifinal defeat

The Royal Aces basketball team has changed the approach to ensure third place after losing 66-54 against the Dolphins in the semifinal of the late Basketball Federation of Nigeria (NBBF) in Lagos in Lagos.

However, their opponents, dolphins, came alive and dominated throughout the game.

The first quarter showed the coordinated play of the Dolphins, pressing forward to win points through free and triple throws, which saw them take an advantage of 17-11.

Royal Aces hardened his defense in the second quarter and advanced to reduce the gap, but Dolphins maintained his advantage, entering half a time with an advantage of 33-27.

In the third quarter, the dolphins capitalized multiple free throws, while Royal Aces fought to close the gap, extending the score at 51-38.

The Dolphins defense proved to be too strong in the last quarter, restricting the royal killers to their own half and sealing a 66-54 victory.

Speaking to journalists, the coach of Royal Aces, according to an eye, attributed the defeat to the defensive failures of his team.

“Our defense was not good enough. In the defense of the team, we fight in that area,” he said.

He, however, praised his players and expressed optimism to end stronger than last year, when they took fourth place.
