Russia rejects the latest sanctions adopted by the European Union (EU) and considers them illegal.
The EU Council earlier on Monday adopted the 14th package of economic and individual restrictive measures against Russia.
According to a statement issued by the council, the measures target high-value sectors of the Russian economy, including energy, finance and trade, making it increasingly difficult to evade EU sanctions.
However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday that Moscow had enough experience in mitigating the impact of such restrictions.
He said: “We believe that this is a double-edged sword and in many ways these restrictions have backfired in the interests of the countries that implemented them.”
