The assistant general police inspector, the headquarters of Zone 7, Aig Victor Olaiya, directed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the Niger state police commands to intensify supervision and strengthen the security measures in their jurisdictions in view of the celebrations of the Sallah Festival.
A declaration signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Police, ASP Mohammed Halima, says that the directive is part of proactive strategies aimed at safeguarding lives and properties during the celebration period.
Aig Olaiya underlined the importance of a solid collection of intelligence, visible police and strategic distribution of staff.
He also asked for collaboration with the critical interested parties to prevent any form of threat or violation of peace.
The spokesman for the zonal command has ensured the residents of the State FCT and the Niger of his unshakable commitment to maintaining the law and order throughout the season and beyond.
“Citizens are invited to remain respectful of the law and promptly report any suspected activity to the nearest police station,” he recommended the declaration.
