School owners in India sacrifice their children for prosperity rituals

A horrific incident came to light in Uttar Pradesh, India, where an 11-year-old child was allegedly sacrificed as part of a ritual carried out by the owner of his school.

Police have arrested five people, including the school owner, director, principal and two teachers, in connection with the horrific crime.

The victim, identified as Kritarth, was a class two student at DL Public School in Hathras. According to police investigations, the child was abducted from the school hostel by the school director, Dinesh Baghel, and a teacher, Ramprakash Solanki. The kidnapping was orchestrated on the orders of the school’s owner, Jasodhan Singh, who is believed to have performed ‘tantric’ rituals.

The child was taken to a remote location for a sacrificial ritual. However, his plans went awry when Kritarth woke up and started crying. In a desperate attempt to silence him, the perpetrators strangled the boy. Another teacher, Veerpal Singh, and the principal, Laxman Singh, were also present at the scene, acting as accomplices.

To cover up his crime, the defendant told the child’s parents that he was unwell and was taken to hospital. However, family members became suspicious and intervened, alerting the police.

Proprietor of DL Public School Jasodhan Singh, who is said to believe in ‘tantrik rituals’, had asked his son Dinesh Baghel, the director of the school, to sacrifice a child for the welfare of the school and his family.

Principal Laxman Singh and two teachers – Ramprakash Solanki and Veerpal Singh – have also been detained by the police.

The police have lodged an FIR against them under section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, against five of them and they have been sent to jail.

“The student has been identified as Kritarth (11) who is studying in class two of DL government school,” Ashok Kumar Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Hathras told PTI.

“On September 23, the student was abducted from the school hostel by teachers Ramprakash Solanki, Dinesh Baghel and school owner Jasodhan Singh. Jasodhan Singh believed in ‘tantric’ practices and asked his son to sacrifice a child for the welfare of his school and family,” added Singh.

After investigation, the defendant admitted his heinous act, revealing that the child was sacrificed for the welfare of the school and the owner’s family. The postmortem report confirmed that Kritarth was strangled to death.

The arrested persons have been charged under Article 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 and sent to prison.
