Senate on Wednesday passed N1.8 trillion as a 2025 budget for the administration of the Federal Capital Region (FCTA).
This followed the presentation of the Senate Committee’s report at FCT by the Chair of the Committee, Senator Bomai Ibrahim, at the plenary in Abuja.
Ibrahim, in his report, said the Senate and the House of Representatives Committee on FCT met with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and other FCTA -related officials to negotiate on the Apropriation Bill.
He said the details of the budget including the cost of N106 billion personnel, Overhead N352 billion, while the total recurring expenditure was pegged on N502 billion.

The amount of N1.3 trillion is intended as capital expenditure.
“The total personal cost is 8.29 percent of the budget, while the total recurring expenditure is 27.69 percent. The total capital expenditure is 72.31 percent.
“This shows that the budget structure is in accordance with the best practice,” said the chairman.
In his contribution, Senator Barau Jibrin said FCTA’s leadership had succeeded in the FCT administration.
