Shettima arrives in New York to attend 79th UNGA

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in New York, United States as head of the Nigerian delegation to the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

Shettima, according to the statement, landed at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport early Monday morning.

He was received at the airport by a number of high-ranking Nigerian officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, his counterpart in Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa.

The Vice President will deliver Nigeria’s national statement, engage in high-level meetings, and address pressing global challenges such as climate change, poverty, inequality, conflict, and health crises.
