Slovakia captain Milan Skriniar is relishing the chance to “torment” England and has declared his team superior.
At Friday’s press conference, Skriniar exposed England’s vulnerabilities and emphasized Slovakia’s confidence ahead of their last-16 showdown on Sunday.
England will face a Slovakia side that advanced from the group stages of Euro 2024 as one of the best third-placed teams.
An opening match victory over Belgium demonstrated their ability to build a big lead, but they subsequently lost to Ukraine and drew with Romania.

“I think we will torment them. We have to try to play our game. The whole team believes we can surprise them,” Skriniar said.
“We have the weapons to defeat them. Of course, they are definitely better than us, but with teamwork we can beat them.”
“They have a squad full of stars, but as a team we are better.
“We’ve been together for a month, but it feels like we met yesterday. We’re happy to be together, we spend time together off the pitch.
“They will be under a lot more pressure and that can play in our favour.
“From their previous performances, I felt that they rely a lot on individual quality and they know that they have players who can decide games. However, we can handle it as a team.”
