Solskjaer looted as Besiktas chief coach

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, will play under a new coach in Besiktas only a few weeks after joining them after the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Besiktas confirmed the solskjaer sack in a statement on Thursday night.

Solskjaer, 52, took over the Besiktas in January and directed them to an end in fourth last season.

But after the defeat of the Swiss Lausanian team in the play-offs of the Conference League on Thursday it meant that the club would not play European football this season.

Ndidi was in action for 90 minutes when Lausanne imposed on Besiktas 1-0 in the second section of Türkiye and advanced in a 2-1 aggregate.

The only goal of the tie in the second leg was scored by Nathan Butler-Addeji in the first minute of the first detention.

In the 46th minute, Besiktas was reduced to 10 men after Felix Uduokhai received a straight red card.

“Our contract with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been terminated after a decision taken at a meeting of the Board,” said the club.

“After the meeting, our president, Serdal Adal aff, thanked Solskjaer for his services to date.”

Besiktas was eliminated from the Europa League qualifiers by Shakhtar Donetsk.

Nuri Sahin, the former player and manager of Borussia Dortmund, has been linked to work.
