The Chairman of the Benue State Assembly, Aondona Dajoh, officially resigned from his position.
His resignation was delivered in a letter signed personally and dated August 24, 2025, obtained by Channels Television.
In a letter titled * “Resignation as a speaker, the Benue State Council Council,” * Dajoh explained that his decision was motivated by a sense of obligation to the state.

“I wrote to resign from my position as a speaker, the House of the State Council of Benue, effective today, August 24, 2025. This was done in good faith and for the best interests of the country. I want to appreciate my dear colleagues for the opportunity they gave me to be the first of the equivalent,” the letter was read in part.
The speaker who came out also convinced his constituents about further services in the legislature. “I promise to remain committed to my duties as a legislator and representative of the constituents of the state of West GBOKO,” he said.
At the time of the press, the assembly had not announced who would replace Dajoh in the role of the speaker.
