Sports, platform to promote national unity, says Uzodimma

… receives torch of units for the National Sports Festival of 2025

The Governor of the State IMO, the senator hopes that Uzodimma received the Torcia of the unit for the National Sports Festival of 2025 which takes place in the state of Ogun.

The governor made on Monday 28 April 2025 and described the event as a platform to promote the unit between the participating states in the country.

Receiving the torch of the unit on behalf of the IMO state government at the Government House, Owerri in front of sports enthusiasts, the staff of the National Sports Commission and the IMO state sports council who met to attend the event, the Governor urged the IMO contingents to go and make the state proud by winning the coveted medals.

He reminded them that Imo State is known for an excellent performance in sport and has encouraged the contingents to go out there with determination and return with many gold medals to make the state proud.

“Go win, win and win the glory of God,” he challenged them.

Previously, the youth and sport commissioner, Hon Obinna Onyeocha has delivered the Torcia of the unit to the leader of the National Sports Commission team, Mrs. Mobe Ikana, who in turn delivered to the governor in the middle of singing, drums and dance.

The event was attended by the deputy governor of the State of Imo, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, the head of the staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie and some members of the state have expanded the executive council
