Storm Basketball Club claims the NCBC 3×3 tournament in Jos

Youth empowerment, democracy held through basketball in the northern center of Nigeria. Storm Basketball Club emerged champions of the inaugural North Central Basketball 3 On-3 Challenge (NCBC 3×3), held at Sports Arena, Old Airport in Jos, State State.

The tournament, which brought together 36 teams from all over the region, marked a significant step towards youth commitment and base sports development in the northern center of Nigeria.

The grand finale delivered a high octane action when Dam Foundation took early control of the game with impeccable baskets. However, Storm organized an exciting return, showing the sand and the determination to overcome the DAM 13-11 Foundation in an exciting final that had the crowd standing.

The event, strategically scheduled to coincide with the celebrations of Nigeria’s democracy day, was not only a sample of sports excellence but a vehicle for social participation.

The organizer of the Mr. Bek Jang tournament, also manager of the Hot Coal Basketball Club team, emphasized that the initiative was designed to involve young people in construction activities, promote basketball in the region and promote unity through sports.

“This is just the beginning,” Jang said. “Our goal is to take this championship in all the central states of the North, building a strong network of youth participation through basketball.”

The NCBC 3×3 tournament presented an inclusive format with each team that includes three male players and a woman, promoting gender balance in sports.

In addition to the championship trophy, individual excellence was also held, with awards presented to the best player, the most valuable player and several other categories.

As the dust is established in the first edition, the emotion and potential of basketball 3 against 3 as a tool for regional empowerment and integration are clearer than ever. For Storm Basketball Club and many other participants, this tournament marks the beginning of a brighter and bold future in Nigerian basketball.
