Storm of Storm of Abuja Estate, kidnapped many residents

The kidnappers armed on Monday evening invaded Grow Homes Estate in the Chikakore area in Kubwa, keeping residents for an hour hostage.

Those who reside in the estate said they had witnessed a man and a woman taken away by the kidnappers. However, the woman was released by her kidnappers.

β€œThe accident occurred around midnight. The attackers were well armed and overwhelmed by the local vigilance team.

“The police arrived around one in the morning and there was a ferocious exchange of shots for about 30 minutes,” said a resident.

The spokesman for the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh, said that the release of the woman was the result of an intense battle of weapons with armed men, adding that efforts are underway to save the remaining victims.

He said: β€œThe FCT police command, Monday 26 May 2025, around 1: 00, received a rescue call from the police officers of Front of Grow Homes Estate, the village of Kuchibuyi in Byazhin, denouncing an attack by armed attackers and requesting reinforcement.

β€œAfter a rapid deployment on the scene, it was discovered that the attackers had violated the estate through the rear fence and they rapidly kidnapped two victims.

β€œThe police officers who replied exchanged shots with the attackers for about 40 minutes and saved one of the victims, identified as Chinyere Joe. Unfortunately, the attackers fled with the second victim.

“The anti-kidnapping unit of the command, in collaboration with the army and other security agents, has since launched an operation to trace the suspicions on the run and guarantee the safe rescue of the remaining kidnapped victim.”
