Coach Ashafat Sulieman, popularly known as “Coach of Brazil”, has expressed optimism about Kwara United’s chances of avoiding relegation after a goalless draw against Shooting Stars at the Adamasingba Stadium.
During a telephone conversation on Game On with Tosh Michael on Emirate 98.5 FM, Ilorin, Monday, April 14, 2026, Sulieman said he remains confident that his team will secure their top-flight status at the end of the season.
The coach noted that Kwara United are determined to win their two remaining home games and aim to at least get one point from the two away games.
“We firmly believe that we will survive relegation. The plan is to win our two home games and fight to get at least one point in the away games,” he said.
Sulieman also highlighted the challenge of playing home matches away from their base as the team currently hosts matches in Lagos.
“We really miss our fans in Ilorin. Playing in Lagos feels like an away game, even though the people there have supported us. But there is no place like home,” he added.
He concluded by expressing his gratitude to the fans for their unwavering prayers and encouragement, assuring them that the team remains focused on finishing the season strong.
