The ancient city of Ile-Ife was an agog on Saturday while the agitator of the Nation Yoruba, Capo Domenica Adeyemo, made a historic visit to the Oons of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, offered unprecedented apologies and sought the forgiveness of the royal father.
Igboho’s visit to the Palazzo di Ooni aroused the presence of important sovereigns, leaders and traditional supporters of Yoruba of Yoruba traditional by Yoruba.
The occasion was marked by emotional moments since Igboho admitted his past errors and publicly expressed remorse for the comments he had previously made against Ooni.
Giving himself to the rally, Igboho said he had come to apologize openly, stressing that no one dared to insult a real father and that he deeply repents of his first expressions.
“I thank God for my life and for this day. I never learned that Kabiyesi would have honored me in this way.
“I offended Ooni in the past and I’m here to look for his forgiveness. Anyone who may have offended should forgive me please,” he said.
The agitator Yoruba revealed that during his captivity in the Benin Republic, he was amazed to learn that the Oons had played a fundamental role in guaranteeing his liberation despite his previous criticisms.
He also filed an appeal to OBA Ogunwusi to use his influence to facilitate the removal of his name from the security control list and to help guarantee the stunning of his bank accounts.
“My priority remains the security of Yorubaland. Our people are killed and we cannot continue like this.
“I want to use my strength and my voice to defend the cause of Yoruba’s security. Kabiyesi, please help us make it possible,” he begged.
In their observations, the Ayede-Eekiti’s Attu, Oba Abdulmumini Orisagbemi and the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Rasheed Olabomi, praised Igboho for showing humility.
They assured him that the traditional Sovereigns of Yoruba had forgiven him and expressed the trust that the oons would intervene in facing his challenges.
By responding, Ooni urged Igboho and his supporters to embrace patience and humility, observed that those virtues remained fundamental of the leadership.
“One thing I learned is that a patient and humble person will always triumph. When many of you have abused me, I smiled because I understood.
“I had several private meetings with the former president Muhammadu Buhari for you, and I thank God that you are alive today. It was not easy,” said Ooni.
The royal father also praised President Bola Tinubu for demonstrating Yoruba Omoluabi’s ethics in his management of national issues, expressing the trust that would have supported the causes dear to the Yoruba people.
“You are my son and I’m not angry with you. You are a pride for the Yoruba race.
“Some advised me not to receive you in Ife, but I told them what you are doing is not just for yourself.
“It is for the good of our people. All problems related to your name on the wish list and your frozen bank accounts will be resolved.
“We put fights aside and combine Yorubaland’s progress,” said Ooni.
