Super Eagles starting XI against Jordan: Semi Ajayi out, Nwaiwu in

Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu will make his first start for Nigeria tomorrow after making his debut as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Iran in the ongoing four-team invitational tournament in Turkey, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Nwaiwu played more than twenty minutes on Thursday and made a good impression on coach Eric Chelle, who recruited him as a replacement for the injured Calvin Bassey.

He is now set to start against Jordan tomorrow and Semi Ajayi returns to his base in England, in what camp sources say is a blow that led to him being substituted against Iran.

Although Chelle is aware of the fact that some newly invited players need to be evaluated, he made it clear that he will field a very good team that can get the job done against Jordan.

In goal, Maduka Okoye is expected to be rested with Adebayo Adeleye or Francis Uzoho starting. Zaidu Sanusi will start at left back with Bruno Onyemaechi, who started in the rested first game.

Captain Wilfred Ndidi is also unfit to play tomorrow, opening the door for either Raphael Onyedika or Frank Onyeka to be in the starting XI.

The duo of Moses Simon and Jerome Akor, who scored against Iran, will also be rested, with Paul Onuachu and Chidera Ejuke lined up as their respective substitutes.
