In the wake of the voluntary withdrawals of key players in Asisat Oshoala and Jennifer Echegini, Interim Head Coach Justin Madugu expressed assurance in the Super Falcons’ preparedness to uplift the spirits of Nigerians.
Madugu conveyed this optimism following Monday’s training session at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, setting the stage for the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations final qualifying fixture against Cape Verde.
Having been compelled to make replacements, Madugu highlighted the silver lining, stating that it presents an opportunity for younger players to showcase their talents and make a significant impact.
“We are planning to ensure that we win both games because that will help to boost the confidence in the team, especially the younger ones that are coming into the team, and will also help to blend the team together,” He said.
As the Super Falcons gear up for the crucial qualifiers, the nation anticipates a display of resilience and determination on the field from the record African Women Champions.
