The Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) South East Zone has extended warm congratulations to Kun Khalifat FC and its owner, Micheal Ahamefonte, in the promotion of reference of the club to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
In a statement jointly signed by the vice -president of the Association, Ikemefuna Asika, and the secretary, Kennedy Onwunali, Swan South East Zone described the company as unprecedented in the history of Nigerian football, observing that Kun Khalifat FC has become the first club in the country to ensure the promotion of the NPFL only five years after its training.
“This result is a testimony of the vision, dedication and hard work of the management, players and the technical crew of the club. It is a historical moment not only for Kun Khalifat FC, but also for the development of football in the south -est and in Nigeria as a whole”, reads the note.
The association praised the team for raising the level and established a new record in the Nigerian football scene. “We urge Kun Khalifat FC to stay concentrated and continue to fight for excellence while preparing to compete among the elite clubs in the NPFL,” said Swan.
