English League One club Crawley Town have secured the signing of Super Eagles defender Tanimu Benjamin from Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars.
The 22-year-old defender completed his transfer after the two clubs agreed a deal worth an estimated $850,000.
Benjamin has signed a contract with Crawley Town that runs until the summer of 2026, with the option to extend for a further year.
A statement from Singida Black Stars confirmed the transfer:
“Our club has reached an agreement with Crawley Town FC of the United Kingdom, which competes in League One, to sell our Nigerian player Benjamin Tanimu.”
“The deal includes a direct transfer fee, a 20% resale clause and performance-related bonuses for both the player and the team over the next two seasons, with a total estimated value of no less than $850,000.”
The statement added: “This transfer also marks the beginning of a partnership between our two clubs aimed at fostering the development of football.”
Tanimu Benjamin has already travelled to England to join his new team.
The defender previously played for Bendel Insurance before moving to Singida BS (formerly Ihefu Sports Club).
