The unintentional debit of Dane’s weapon killed one person in the state of Kaduna on Tuesday.
Spokesman for the State Police Command, Mansar Hassan, confirmed the incident in a statement in Kaduna.
He, however, denied the explosion in any part of any state.
The spokesman said: “Around 8:30 in the morning, our operators received a tribal call regarding the alleged explosion in the Josawa Road area in Abakpa, Kaduna.

“The incident claimed the lives of a 12-year-old boy, who was identified as Abubakar Muhamed from Josawa Road.
“In addition, seven other people are experiencing various levels of injury and are currently receiving medical attention.
“The initial investigation carried out by officers responsible for the anti-bombs of the police indicated that firearms made locally (Ddane Gun) were dismissed, which resulted in the loss of the life of the boy.”
