The Anglicans Nigerian serious ties with the Church in Wales refuse the election of lesbian as Archbishop – Thaage

The Anglican Church in Nigeria has interrupted all the ties and relations with the Church in Wales for the recent election of Bishop Cherry Elizabeth Vann, a lesbian cleric, as a new archbishop of Wales.

Archbishop Henry Ndukuba, primate of the Church of Nigeria, announced the decision to the opening ceremony of the Conference of the Church of Nigeria, Registration and Legal Officers (ACRLLO) in Abuja, Tuesday.

On July 30, Cherry Elizabeth Vann was announced as Archbishop of Wales, having received the majority of two thirds of the votes requested on the second day of the meeting of the Chern Electoral College.

It is the first woman to be elected as Anglican Archbishop in the United Kingdom and the first openly lesbian and partner bishop to serve before the first of the Anglican communion.

Declaring the action of the Anglican Church in Wales, a direct violation of biblical teachings, Ndukuba said that Cherry Vann’s election was unacceptable for the church in Nigeria

“A few days ago, the media were flooded by the news of the action of revisionists in the western church in the United Kingdom, in particular in the Church in Wales. These individuals did not give up from their evil agenda; rather, they intensified it.

“As the scriptures, men and evil impostors will worsen more and more, deceiving and deceived. What they call their wisdom and culture is an abomination for God. The election of a lesbian woman does not originate as a mission. We laugh at Cherry Vann’s elections as an archbishop of Wales.

“Just as the church of Nigeria made similar steps after the election of Gene Robinson in the United States, we are fenced every link and relations with the Church in Wales,” he said.

Ndukuba reiterated that the Anglican Church in Nigeria is resolved and engaged in its position against homosexuality and heretical teachings in communion.

“We will continue to maintain orthodoxy and contend for the faith that once for all has been delivered to the saints. We will collaborate with Gafcon and Orthodox groups that are faithful to God and support the authority of the scriptures in doctrine, morality, mission and practical living and would preserve our legacy of faith”, he added.

Ndukuba, who praised the organizers and participants in the meeting, said that men and women have entrusted the heavy task of preserving justice, truth and law, “in many ways, your call has a surprising similarity with the biblical call of a guardian”.
